Their question is good. Yesterday, I had said, “One has to lie in order to make a good image in society”, however, that’s not what I had said. Instead, I said, ” In order to keep society happy, one has to lie.” There are two easy ways of getting anything done from a person. The third one is to point a gun at him.
The first way is to make the other person extremely happy. It’s kind of like a popcorn kernal, when a kernal pops becomes very light. Similarly, when anyone is bumped up with compliments they’ll do things for you happily. A popcorn kernal goes straight down when thrown, whereas a popped pocorn kernal is light and flows when thrown. When an ego is boosted, the person feels light and overconfident. By giving compliments, praises one can boost ego like the Gods did with Bholenath Mahadev.
They would requested Bhagwan Mahadev for various favors of drinking Halāhala or to kill Jalandhara. So, one way is to praise/compliment a lot. The second way to get someone to act according to you is to boost their ego in such a way that the other person is convinced that their chosen action is their idea and not yours. Then the person will work easily. If a child is asked to study, he/she simply won’t start but within few minutes of conversation if the child is made believe that studying makes them a good kid and because they’re a good kid, they’ll study. If a person thinks that their actions are their original idea then it is very easy to act.
Someone shared a very nice video clip of a saint narrating a story. His name was Late Swami Rajeshwaranand. So he said that when a mahout comes with an elephant in his village, everyone pays their respect by saying, “Jai Ganpati bappa” & kids are also taught to do the same gesture of respect & offer different things like sugracane, banana etc. All knowledgebale beings are paying their respects. It amazes me that the dogs walking behind the elephant are continuously barking. Afterall, what could be a dog’s problem with an elephant? It’s not like the dogs are on par with the elephants. Clearly, it’s not a case of personal hatred either.
Dogs are not courageous enough to come infront of the elephant and bark. The elephant continues to walk & the dogs continue to bark from behind Dogs will not come infront to bark. Afterall, its an elephant and who knows how far it will take and drop. Dogs will continue to bark from behind but the elephant ignores and patiently continues to walk. Peraphs that’s why elephant is of revernece as Sri Ganesha’s head is of an elephant. The elephant is not bothered by the dog’s barking.
He knows that if & when I walk on a path, these dogs will bark. Elephant’s biggest speciality is that it does not stop for the barking dogs or for the people who are bowing down in reverence and offering materials. The elephant continues to walk & doesn’t stop to bless the one’s who are bowing down in reverence. The elephant stops for neither barking dogs nor for those who are bowing down in reverence. As if the elephant knows that peace habitat is beyond condemnation and praises. When in society, if we walk on a path where we want to please everyone, it’s not possible without lying. This is the bitter truth of society because every person thinks they are special. They think that they are special and something special is made for them.
Their birth is a huge debt on this nature & nature should bow down to them. It’s good enough that they’re up in the morning. They don’t have to do their karma. Everyone is a small seasme grain. It’s up to them if they want to adjoin with sweet ladoo or die slowly. We all are same regardless if we twist or squeeze, we will get the same result. Everyone’s blood is the same, it’s the same red color. If anyone is so special maybe they can show thier white blood. If they actually are different. We can say a person is different if they have four eyes instead of two. Ego is so humangous that despite of every thing being the same, a person thinks what’s inside them is so different. There’s nothing different, everyone is essentially similar. Everyone gets different training.
So, if a person wants to keep everyone happy, the easiest method is to lie. Lie and everyone is happy. What’s in a lie? All it takes is fake praise of that person; everyone is happy. The other method is that you keep walking the path of truth. If any one disagrees with yout path, they will automatically leave you. On the path of truth, you may not have many people with you and you may end up with only a handful but those people will be yours turly. One Ramakrishna Paramahamsa only needed one Vivekananda. Four thousand, four lakh or forty Vivekanandas are not needed, one is enough for a revolution. A country only needs one Mahatma Gandhi. In million of years, there’s only been one saptarishi. Not 7 lakh or 7 crores just handful. This force is only present in the Truth. Only a truthful person can bring an everlasting revolution. A person who walks on the path of truth, In other words, no false emotions, false conduct or false promises.
If I am joking when i’m alone, I am also joking with you all. I just tone it down a little bit. If I keep sitting like a serious baba infront of you and I laugh inside, then that is false emotion. It deteriorates a person. Throughout 2000 years or so there have only been a Buddha & Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, one such personality is more than enough and despite of knowing that society of their times is not with them, it didn’t matter.
All of their work is done for self in all, for that divine and whosoever can understand will come along automatically. If not when alive, then it will be after death. If the emotion of world welfare is true then there is no condition that welfare needs to happen during that lifetime. We can leave behind the system, memories, divine glories, praises and knowledge so that later on anyone can choose and walk that path. Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time; Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o’er life’s solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take heart again. Let us, then, be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait.
This is H W Longfellow in the “Sum of Life”. Very famous poem & it starts with Tell me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream! For the soul is dead that slumbers, And things are not what they seem. Life is real! Life is earnest! And the grave is not its goal; Dust thou art, to dust returnest, Was not spoken of the soul. Art is long, and Time is fleeting, And our hearts, though stout and brave, Still, like muffled drums, are beating Funeral marches to the grave. In the life’s broad field of battle, In the bivouac of Life, bivouac means an open camp In the bivouac of Life, Let us not be dumb, driven cattle! Be a hero in the strife! and then the rest of the stanzas. And, that’s really the idea, You’ve gotta walk your own path. Have that conviction and that conviction only comes if you know what you’re doing. Sometimes, you don’t know in the beginning but as you keep walking, It starts to unfold.
